Eric Swalwell Accuses Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott of ‘Letting Their Voters Die to Make a Political Point’

Many on the left have been attacking Republicans as COVID-19 cases have been rising due to the delta variant and blaming them for the rise by saying that the lack of vaccinations have been the cause for the increase.

Republican governors like Florida’s Ron DeSantis and Texas’ Greg Abbott have also been in the crosshairs of those who want to find leaders to hold accountable, like U.S. House Rep Eric Swalwell, who accused the pair of “letting their voters die to make a political point” in a tweet today.

Political analyst Bill Kristol, who previously wrote a column encouraging disaffected so-called Republicans to join forces with the “Biden wing” of the Democrat party, began the bashing with a tweet where he called on donors to withhold their funding.

“People are dying in Florida and Texas, not just from COVID, but also because the hospitals are so over-burdened that other patients aren’t able to get the best quality care,” Kristol claimed.

Kristol then urged, “Republican donors should at least pause their support of DeSantis and Abbott in the face of this disaster.”

Swalwell then seized upon that suggestion and quote tweeted Kristol, stating, “#ThoseGuys are letting their voters die to make a political point. Don’t let them get away with it. #TheyLieWeDie.”

Earlier today, DeSantis held a press conference and said in a tweet, “I’m at the Monoclonal Antibody Response Unit in Jacksonville as part of the state’s effort to expand monoclonal antibody treatments like Regeneron.”

Abbott announced yesterday that “Texas is taking action to ensure that our hospitals are properly staffed and supported in the fight against COVID-19. More than 2,500 medical personnel are being deployed to help hospitals care for COVID-19 patients across Texas.”

It is clear that Democrats expect these leaders to only take the action that they determine should be taken or else they will essentially accuse them of murder.
