Eric Swalwell Sounds the Alarm: It’s a ‘Fact’ That the GOP Are ‘Determined to End Democracy As We Know it’ In 2022 and 2024

U.S. House Rep Eric Swalwell (D-CA) sounded the alarm today on the 2022 and 2024 elections as he claimed that due to Republicans more closely watching the elections now, they are “determined to end Democracy as we know it.”

Swalwell shared a POLITICO article titled, “‘It’s going to be an army’: Tapes reveal GOP plan to contest elections.”

The article reported that Republicans are “Placing operatives as poll workers and building a ‘hotline’ to friendly attorneys are among the strategies to be deployed in Michigan and other swing states.”

Swalwell urged his followers in a tweet, “Read this and understand as hard as we fought in 2020, we are going to have to fight 10x harder in 2022 and 2024.”

“The entire Republican Party apparatus is mobilized and organized determined to end democracy as we know it. That’s not hyperbole, it’s fact,” Swalwell insisted.

According to POLITICO, video recordings of Republican Party operatives meeting with grassroots activists provide an inside look at a multi-pronged strategy to target and potentially overturn votes in Democratic precincts: Install trained recruits as regular poll workers and put them in direct contact with party attorneys.

The plan, as outlined by a Republican National Committee staffer in Michigan, includes utilizing rules designed to provide political balance among poll workers to install party-trained volunteers prepared to challenge voters at Democratic-majority polling places, developing a website to connect those workers to local lawyers and establishing a network of party-friendly district attorneys who could intervene to block vote counts at certain precincts, POLITICO reported.

The mainstream media apparently is now pushing a narrative that this oversight is somehow a bad thing.

NPR ran a similar article last week which was titled, “The election system shuddered in 2020. Now, there are fears of an attack within.”

In the article, NPR quoted Teresa De Graaf, the Republican clerk of Port Sheldon Township, in Ottawa County, Michigan.

Of those who might believe the 2020 election was stolen, De Graaf claimed, “I feel like they’re trying to — infiltrate might be a good word.”

De Graaf said she denied poll worker applications from two people that she described as “radicals.”
