Even Mike Pence Tells Chuck Todd he has ‘Concerns About’ Merrick Garlands Judgement With His Decision to Search Mar-a-Lago

Sunday former Vice President Mike Pence sat down with Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press” to promote his book “So help me God”.

Pence brought up that the Justice Department and the FBI have an issue with public confidence in them. He advises they need to put their focus on restoring it.

Todd then asks of Pence, “You don’t have confidence in Merrick Garland as attorney general?”

“I have great difficulty with the decision that he made [to search Mar-a-Lago]. I have great concerns about his judgment and leadership at the Justice Department in the wake of it”

Garland it seems has been on a tear against former President Trump, most recently announcing another special counsel established to investigate if charges should be brought against him.

When Garland decided to raid the former President’s home many across the political spectrum saw it as an abuse of power and weaponization of the Justice Department and the FBI against Trump.

Pence and Trump ended their partnership on a sour note, however, that hasn’t stopped Pence from seeing the abuse of power that is taking place at the Justice Department.

Trump announced he is again seeking a second term as president last Tuesday, and on Friday Merrick Garand announced the special counsel. For many, this feels like a rerun of the numerous “witch hunts” that former President Trump was a target of during his presidency, including two impeachments.

The goal of this special counsel is to determine if Trump should be charged before the 2024 elections take place. With less than two years before the election, it doesn’t seem like much time according to some pundits. We will see what comes of this.

As for restoring public confidence, Garland and Wray don’t seem too interested in what the common man thinks of their departments.
