Former QB Dan Orlovsky Leads Prayer Out Loud Live on ESPN For Buffalo Bills Player in Critical Condition

In a powerful moment yesterday, former quarterback Dan Orlovsky paused during “NFL Live” on ESPN to say a prayer out loud live on ESPN for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin who is in critical condition.

A clip shared in a tweet showed that Orlovsky began by noting that “football gave me everything.”

“I think even through the midst of absolute tragedy last night, I think you saw some of the beauty of football as well, that it’s brought us all together,” Orlovsky continued.

Orlovsky then pointed out that others have offered “thoughts and prayers” all day but that he wanted to do something “different.”

“Maybe this is not the right thing to do but it’s just on my heart that I want to pray for Damar Hamlin right now,” Orlovsky explained.

Orlovsky then said, “It’s just on my heart that I’m gonna pray for Damar Hamlin right now,” as Marc Spears told him that it was.

“I’m gonna do it out loud, I’m gonna close my eyes, I’m gonna bow my head and I’m just gonna pray for him,” Orlovsky concluded before beginning the prayer.

Both Laura Rutledge and Spears also bowed their heads and closed their eyes as well while Orlovsky gave the prayer and both said “Amen” at the end.

As we reported earlier, the Buffalo Bills shared on their Twitter account that “Damar remains in the ICU in critical condition with signs of improvement noted yesterday and overnight. He is expected to remain under intensive care as his health care team continues to monitor and treat him.”
