Founding Fox News Anchor Uma Pemmaraju Passed Away at 64

Uma Pemmaraju passed away at the age of 64. The cause of her death hasn’t been released. Pemmaraju was one of Fox News’ founding anchors.

Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott released a statement on the passing of Pemmaraju, “We are deeply saddened by the death of Uma Pemmaraju, who was one of FOX News Channel’s founding anchors and was on the air the day we launched. Uma was an incredibly talented journalist as well as a warm and lovely person, best known for her kindness to everyone she worked with. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her entire family”

Pemmaraju hosted a myriad of programs while at Fox News including, “Fox News Now”, “Fox On Trends”, “Fox News Live, and “The Fox Report”. At one point Pemmaraju left the networka and came back in 2003.

Pemmaraju at one point sat down with the Dalai Lama in an interview. She was born in India and raised in Texas. She was named “Boston’s Best Anchor in 1996 and 1997 by Boston Magazine she had also recived many Emmy awrds thoughtout her caree for her reporting and investigavie journalism.

She was also named one of Splotlight Magaine’s “20 Intreguing Women of 1998” and in 2002 she was wpm the Texas AP award in 2002 and many other awards.

Pemmaraju taught jornalism at Emerson college as well as Harvard University.
