Fox News Anchor Howard Kurtz used part of his hour on his Sunday show “Media Buzz” to address the media shakeup that happened on Monday with Fox News “ousting” of Tucker Carlson and CNN’s parting with Don Lemon.
Kurtz speculated that in the end there might be “a worthwhile outcome.”
Kurtz shared, “The big picture raised by the dismissals at Fox and CNN is whether we are entering a new era in which some limits are imposed on what even the most popular hosts can say.”
“Management at all the networks may be more likely to rein in their top talent and insist on fact checking rather than risk embarrassing or lawsuits for the airing of false information. That, if it comes to pass, might just be a worthwhile outcome.”

Kurtz seemed optimistic about Carlson being jettisoned by Fox News. Maybe he is just trying to see the “bright side” of things as Fox News sees the 8 PM hour ratings tank. It sounded like maybe he may be a little bit happy about Carlson’s departure.
Fox announced on Monday morning that they had parted ways with Carlson, and it was also revealed that his executive producer Justin Wells was also let go. Shortly after this announcement, Don Lemon tweeted that he was fired from CNN.
Carlson and Lemon have both spoken with the press and for now, don’t appear to be too bothered by being dropped from media corporations they had both spent many years with.
Carlson is already being courted by other media stations, Newsmax as well as News Nation to name a few. As of now, people are just speculating about what will be next for Carlson, who seems fairly gleeful about his newfound freedom.

Kurtz has always been a mealy mouth. playing both sides against the middle.
Kurtz is a company man. His dialogue was repeated as given to him from higher up.
Mr. Jones, don’t do any serious journalism or they’ll dump you, too.
I cancelled my Fox news portion of my Dish subscription shortly after the 2020 election and have never looked back. The loss was negligible, if any at all.
Kurtz will say and do any and everything they tell him to do. He is a whimp and is not a conservative. He is another one that was jealous of Tucker. I like Lawrence, but he will never dig into wrongdoing like Tucker, and he will not get the viewership. I have given up totally on FOX. I used to watch it all the time and now not at all. The very few that is left will have to suffer for what the higher ups did.
