Greg Abbott: ‘The Federal Court of Appeals Just Issued a Temporary Halt to Biden’s Vaccine Mandate’

In a stunning announcement, Texas Republican Gov. announced that “The Federal Court of Appeals just issued a temporary halt to Biden’s vaccine mandate.”

“Emergency hearings will take place soon. We will have our day in court to strike down Biden’s unconstitutional abuse of authority,” Abbott explained in the tweet.

Abbott also shared a screenshot of a court document which stated that “The Government shall respond to the petitioners motion for a permanent injunction by 5:00 PM on Monday, November 8,”

“The petitioners shall file any reply by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 9,” the screenshot added.

President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate, which would affect about two of every three private-sector workers, was officially rolled out on Thursday and is set to take effect Jan. 4.

An article from Business Insider reported that yesterday, more than half of U.S. states filed or joined lawsuits opposing Biden’s vaccine mandate for employees of large companies.

Twenty-six states cosigned four petitions, amounting to perhaps the most sweeping legal challenge to COVID-19 pandemic-era safety requirements since Biden took office including three Democrat-led states.

Filed in four federal appeals courts, the lawsuits take aim at Biden’s requirement that all companies with more than 100 employees mandate COVID-19 vaccines for their staff, or implement weekly testing.

A lawsuit filed by Missouri and 10 other states in the US Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit said, “This mandate is unconstitutional, unlawful, and unwise.”

In remarks earlier today, Biden took a victory lap after the passage of the infrastructure bill late last night, but this is likely to put a damper on the celebration.
