House Republicans Excoriate Psaki For Mocking & Not Knowing the Answer to a Space Force Question

Another press briefing, another controversy for President Biden’s White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who once again, was unable to provide an answer to a question that was asked and this time also mocked the question.

Psaki was asked if Biden had made any decisions on the future of the Space Force, which was established by Congress in December 2019 with support from the Trump administration.

“Wow. Space Force. It’s the plane of today,” Psaki replied, while smiling and finding the question amusing while seemingly comparing the question to an earlier one about the color scheme of Air Force One.

“It is an interesting question. I am happy to check with our Space Force point of contact. I’m not sure who that is. I will find out and see if we have any update on that,” Psaki added.

House Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) was one of several House Republicans who was not amused by her lack of respect towards the branch of the U.S. military.

In a tweet, Lamborn responded, “Hey Jen Psaki- @SpaceForceDoD is not a laughing matter to my constituents. This admin needs to get serious about the very real threats our warfighters face from China & Russia. Our military deserves better.”

Lamborn also chided her for not knowing who the “point of contact” should be, who is also her boss, as he said, “Also, learn the Space Force PoC. (Hint: @POTUS is Commander in Chief)”

Politico reported on other House Republicans who chastised her including Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL), who said, “It’s concerning to see the Biden administration’s press secretary blatantly diminish an entire branch of our military as the punchline of a joke, which I’m sure China would find funny.”

“The Space Force was passed with near unanimous support in Congress, the same type of ‘unity’ President Biden is supposedly working towards. Jen Psaki needs to immediately apologize to the men and women of the Space Force for this disgraceful comment,” Rogers added.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL), who is a founding member of the House Space Force Caucus, also had harsh words regarding the dismissal by Psaki and said, “This is just another example of the Biden administration not taking China seriously while demeaning the incredible work of Space Force personnel.”

In September, Lamborn met with General James H. Dickinson who was “in his new role” as Commander of the United States Space Command.

Lamborn said they “discussed his upcoming priorities & ongoing efforts to collaborate with our warfighters & capabilities in a way that will deter conflict with our near-peer adversaries.”
