Hunter Biden Lawyer Files to Withdraw from Federal Gun Case Friday as Court Is Asked to Dismiss Case with Claim of ‘Immunity’

Hunter Biden’s lawyer Richard Jones has filed to withdraw from the federal gun charges case against Biden.

On Tuesday, Biden entered a plea of “not guilty” to three federal gun charges he currently faces. On Friday, Biden asked the court to dismiss the case against him. Biden has claimed he has immunity against the indictment from an earlier plea agreement with prosecutors.

Nick Sotor shared:

#BREAKING: Hunter Biden’s attorney Richard Jones has filed to WITHDRAW from Hunter’s federal gun charge case This comes just hours after it was reported that Hunter was demanding “immunity” in the case Hunter appeared in court in person for his arraignment Tuesday morning after being charged with: 1) Making a false statement in the purchase of a firearm 2) Making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federal firearms licensed dealer 3) Possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance He’s pleaded not guilty to all charges. All counts combined, Hunter Biden faces a maximum of 25 years in prison. Each count carries a maximum fine of $250,000 and three years of supervised release. But whether Joe Biden will pardon his son is yet to be known…”

The plea agreement referenced is the one signed before a hearing on July 26th in which everything seemed to fall apart for Biden.

Special Counsel David Weiss’s team has denied that agreement remains “in effect.” They claim Biden’s defense lawyers “cobbled together snippets” from the hearing transcript to try to make their case, however, the judge never approved the deal.

It seems like another bold attempt at trying to keep the president’s son away from possible jail time. It doesn’t appear that it will hold up and makes some wonder if that may be the reason behind Jones’s departure.
