Earlier tonight, in a tweet, US House Rep Ilhan Omar shared an article from USA Today where the headline claimed, ‘New Donald Trump immigration policy could ban thousands of African immigrants from US’. Her shocking assessment of the article, “No matter how hard he tries, President Trump can’t stop black and brown people from existing.”

The article talks about how late last month the Trump administration announced the expansion of its travel ban, calling it ‘controversial’. The administration added immigration restrictions on citizens from Nigeria, Myanmar, Eritrea and Kyrgyzstan who want to live or work in the U.S. permanently.
From the article, ‘It also bars citizens from Sudan and Tanzania from the U.S. diversity visa program, also known as the “green-card lottery,” which aims to diversify the immigrant population in the United States by selecting applicants from countries with lower rates of immigration’.
Lacy Johnson, a Republican candidate challenging Omar for her seat, responded with a tweet of his own saying, “Each day, Ilhan Omar’s rhetoric is out of control! Each day she speaks, my campaign grows stronger!”
Let’s get 25,000 retweets on this tweet.
