Illegal Immigrant Killer of Mollie Tibbetts Found Guilty of Murder in Iowa

A jury of 12 has found the illegal immigrant killer of Mollie Tibbetts guilty of first degree murder.

Cristhian Bahena Rivera, an illegal immigrant charged with the first-degree murder of University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts has been found guilty. Rivera has sat in the courtroom with headphones on for translation.

Rivera took the stand earlier this week. He told a wild story about masked men blaming them for the death of Mollie Tibbetts. This story greatly differed from his original statement.

Rivera had originally said that he blacked out and when he came to, Tibbetts was in the truck of his vehicle bleeding, and he panicked and left her out in the field where her body was later found.

The defense argued that Rivera had been rejected by Tibbetts when he approached her. He was angry and stocked Tibbetts and eventually murdered her.

Mollie Tibbetts went missing on July 18th, 2018 her body was found on August 20th, 2018. A massive search was launched when she was reported missing. Rivera had lead police to her body.

Rivera faces possible life in prison without patrol. Sentencing for Rivera will be on July 15th.

His family was unable to be at the trial. Fox News reported that most of his contacts in the U.S. were unable to make the trial. One pundit noted that if the jury had not found him guilty it would have been a slap in the face to the Tibbetts family considering the overwhelming pile of evidence and poor defense.

Senator Chuck Grassley tweeted, “Iowans’ hearts broke when Mollie Tibbetts was murdered by an undocumented immigrant in 2018 2day the murderer was found guilty & justice was served for a senseless act of violence that took a young life God bless Mollie & her family/friends”

This is a developing story that may be updated with details, stay tuned.
