Jen Psaki Admits to Liking Peanuts Character ‘Peppermint Patty’ After Being Told About Ted Cruz Jab

White House press secretary Jen Psaki admitted today to liking Peanuts character “Peppermint Patty” after being told that U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) had called her that.

Cruz made the jab today at CPAC while discussing why “our liberty is so under assault.”

“Joe Rogan, Jen Psaki” Cruz said while expecting boos and after receiving none, he asked, “Come on, Jen Psaki doesn’t get the Justin Trudeau treatment?”

After finally getting the reaction he was looking for, Cruz added, “You know, Peppermint Patty deserves some love.”

Psaki was later told at a press briefing by a reporter, “Senator Ted Cruz is speaking at CPAC and you came up, he called you ‘Peppermint Patty’ and has encouraged people to boo you.”

“Don’t tell him I like Peppermint Patty, so I’m not gonna take it too offensively. Senator Cruz, I like Peppermint Patty,” Psaki responded while smiling.

Psaki added, “I’m a little tougher than that so there you go.”

Cruz later quote tweeted a clip of Psaki’s response along with a shrug emoji.

Psaki hasn’t been a target of Cruz too often, but in Feb. 2021, he called her out after a press briefing where she said that President Biden is taking a “strategic approach” to China, adding that the administration is “not in a rush.”

Cruz responded to the clip of Psaki speaking at the briefing, “Captain Obvious. Hard to be in a rush to counter the CCP…when the Biden admin is rushing to crawl into bed with them.”
