John Durham’s Review of Russia Investigation Focuses on Anti-Trump, Biden Supporter John Brennan

According to the Washington Examiner, U.S. Attorney John Durham’s review of the Russia investigation is putting increased scrutiny on former CIA Director John Brennan, who was in charge until 2017, when the original report was released.

The “Assessing Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent US Elections” report concluded with “high confidence” that Putin “ordered an influence campaign in 2016” and Russia worked to “undermine public faith” in U.S. democracy, “denigrate” former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and “harm her electability and potential presidency,” and “developed a clear preference” for Trump.

Durham is looking into highly sensitive issues, including whether Brennan took politicized actions to pressure the rest of the intelligence community to match his conclusions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s motivations, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

Brennan doesn’t tweet often, but when he does, it’s mostly anti-Trump messages and one even seemingly endorsing, Joe Biden. Of Biden, Brennan said that he “is one of the most honest, decent, practical, and experienced individuals with whom I have ever worked. If nominated & elected, he is capable of unifying our country & restoring America’s standing around the world.”

The anti-Trump tweets are well documented, with him criticizing the President just yesterday by saying, “MBS is responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. That you refer to him as a “friend” is telling of your total lack of morality, ethics, & integrity.” This was in response to a tweet that Trump made about the Crown Prince.

And on March 20th, when Trump criticized Peter Alexander for his “sensationalism,” it didn’t sit well with Brennan. “Donald trump’s rant against Peter Alexander reveals the extent of trump’s incompetence, insecurity, & juvenile petulance. He is not & never has been a leader. He is a national disgrace.”

In February, he accused Trump of Russian meddling yet again. “We are now in a full-blown national security crisis. By trying to prevent the flow of intelligence to Congress, Trump is abetting a Russian covert operation to keep him in office for Moscow’s interests, not America’s.”

You would think that somebody who is under investigation would try to be a little more discreet but the fact that he only tweets occasionally and focuses all of his energy on one person, it makes it not hard to see why he would become the focus of this investigation.
