Josh Hawley Vows to Obstruct Biden Pentagon and State Dept. Nominations Unless Blinken, Austin, and Sullivan Resign

U.S. Sen Josh Hawley (R-MO) today vowed to obstruct all nominations by President Joe Biden to the Pentagon and State Department unless Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan resign.

Hawley unloaded, “Leaders take responsibility for their failures and the failure of these individuals, the failure of this administration has costs Americans their lives.”

In addition, Hawley called for Biden to resign and said, “Make no mistake, this president is a disgrace. His behavior is disgraceful. He has dishonored this country with his shameful leadership in this crisis and it is time for him to resign.”

Liberal Twitter news source The Recount put their own spin on the situation in a tweet where they shared a clip of Hawley’s speech:

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO), who famously raised a fist in solidarity to the 1/6 insurrectionists, says he won’t consent to any Department of Defense or State nominations until Sec. of State Antony Blinken, Defense Sec. Gen. Lloyd Austin and NSA Jake Sullivan resign.

Other liberals were triggered by Hawley’s words including GQ’s Luke Zaleski, who put his own spin on the situation as well in a response to The Recount’s tweet:

In a recent tweet of his own, Hawley shared video of his speech and declared:
