“Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany has been reportedly tapped to become the next temporary “Fox News Tonight” host.
McEnany has filled in for Laura Ingraham multiple times on her show “The Ingraham Angle.”
That led to speculation that she might get an opportunity to host a show in the primetime lineup sooner, rather than later.
McEnany announced the news in a tweet where she said, “I am honored to share that I will be hosting Fox News Tonight on @FoxNews at 8 pm ET all next week (5/8-5/12)! Set your DVR.”
“Please join me next week as we dig into the state of politics, media, culture, and faith in America!”
Lawrence Jones was selected to host the first week of temporary replacements and thus far, he has not garnered high ratings.
Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show has taken the top spot among 8-11pm shows.
Jesse Watter’s 7pm show tied with Maddow’s show on Monday, according to a report.
McEnany’s new role is a significant one, as she will be responsible for anchoring the network’s flagship evening news program. She will face stiff competition from other major news networks, but her strong personality and conservative credentials should give her a good chance of success.
McEnany is a strong communicator and a talented journalist. However, many are boycotting Fox News over the Tucker Carlson fiasco. Time will tell exactly how many people choose to tune in. DC Draino signaled that it will be challenging to get people to watch:
