Kelly Loeffler Canceled Rally Speech After Staffer With Ties to Governor Kemp Tragically Killed in Car Accident

This morning a young member of Kelly Loeffler’s Staff was killed in a three-car accident. Doug Collins made the announcement at today’s “Protect the Majority” rally according to a tweet from DJ Judd.

Harrison Deal, was a campaign staffer for Kelly Loeffler with ties to Governor Brian Kemp. He had also interned for Senator David Perdue’s office in the summer of 2019.

Loeffler expressed her sadness with the loss of Deal in a tweet. “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we mourn the loss of Harrison Deal. My heart aches for his family, and Jeff and I will continue to surround them in love and prayer in the days ahead. Harrison was a beloved member of our campaign team. More importantly, Harrison was a smart, bright, loving, loyal and outstanding young man. Harrison embodied the very best of this campaign – and the very best of our state. We will forever cherish and honor Harrison’s memory, and I ask every Georgian to join us in praying for his family during this difficult time.”

Kemp also canceled his trip to greet the Vice President at the rally. The Kemp Family released a statement and a Christmas picture which included Harrison, Kemp’s family and others. The statement said in part, “Today, we lost a member of our ‘Kemp strong’ family and words cannot express how much Harrison Deal’s life, love, and support meant to us. He was a person of deep faith, unmatched integrity, and incredible kindness. Harrison was the kemp son and brother we never had.” See the full statement below:

Perdue also issued a statement via Twitter:

Some Twitter users are asking if Deal is related to former Governor of Georgia Nathan Deal.

While other Twitter users are claiming Deal was Kemp’s daughter’s boyfriend or ex-boyfriend.

We are unable to verify these claims independently of the tweets.
