Fox News has let go of Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump, who is the wife of Trump’s son Eric.
With the announcement of Donald Trump’s presidential run, Fox News has in line with its policies, let go of Lara Trump as a paid contributor. Her last paid appearance was on November 15th, the same week that Trump made his announcement.
According to ‘Variety‘, Fox News has a policy that prohibits Lara to stay on the network as a paid contributor, to her relationship with former President Trump.
Lara came on as a paid contributor to Fox News in 2021 after Donald Trump was out of office and no longer on the campaign trail. Lara could still be seen on Fox News in an unpaid capacity as she did during Trump’s 2020 campaign.
Chairman of Fox Corporation, parent company to Fox News, Rupert Murdoch quickly shared after Trump’s presidential run announcement that he wouldn’t be supporting the former president in this bid for the White House.
Fox News released a statement on Lara’s departure, “We appreciate Lara’s valuable contributions across Fox News Media programming.”
The long-standing policy at Fox News prohibits people from being contributors when they announce a campaign for public office.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders was also released from being a paid contributor after she announced her run for governor of Arkansas.
Currently, Trump’s former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is employed by Fox News as cohost of “Outnumbered”.
While Fox News seems to have stayed mostly impartial concerning former President Trump they are currently not bolstering him in the public eye.
