During Super Bowl LVII, LeBron James was shown on the jumbotron in the stadium. When he was shown the crowd booed him. In response to the booing James put on an imaginary crown and raised his finger signaling he was number one.
Placing the imaginary crown on his head was a nod to his nickname “King James”.
Lebron recently broke the all-time scoring record, previously set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, just days before the super bowl.
Twitter account “Overtime” shared the video with:
“Why they booing Bron like that”
Twitter user Chicago1Ray shared the sentiment of the fans who booed LeBron with, “Big shout out to all the fans who booed LeBron James last night at the super bowl..on behalf of the American people THANK YOU”
James is sitting out Monday’s game, Clay Travis pointed out, “LeBron flew to Phoenix for the Super Bowl, got booed by the stadium watching the game there, and now is too “injured” to play tonight. Perfect encapsulation of why most sports fans can’t stand him.”
Twitter user Anderson Brown explained why he believes James was booed, “The obvious is seen by everyone but the media. Lebron James has a hold on the media. He can literally get away with practically anything he wants to and they will buy it, hook and sinker. He is booed for partying when he is supposed to be hurt. That’s why they were booing…”
Twitter user RamsesElMaza shared, “Loud Booed to Lebron James .. at #SuperBowl by proclaiming himself the king and” goat “.. made a fool of himself… #SupportMichaelJordan #MichaelJordanGOAT @Jumpman23”.
Twitter user Chris Hogan called it the best part of the super bowl, “Lebron being booed by the entire stadium was the best part of this years #SuperBowl. Loved to see it.”
Even with his big achievement, it seems James isn’t winning over any new fans. People were there to watch the Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
