Liberals Rage at Schumer After Jan. 6 Commission Vote Fails

Earlier today, we reported that despite several defectors, Republicans were able to block a bill that would setup a commission to investigate the events that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Despite being billed as a bipartisan commission, Democrats in the House would have had oversight over it and would have used this commission to raise money for the Democrat party, target Republicans and Trump supporters politically, and bang the drum for months to come, while ignoring BLM and Antifa riots simultaneously that plagued cities for months.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) tried his best to shame the GOP into passing the bill, but to no avail.

After the vote failed, Schumer tweeted, “Donald Trump’s Big Lie is now the defining principle of what was once the party of Lincoln.”

Liberals, however, unsatisfied with the result of the vote, responded to Schumer’s tweet by suggesting that he take drastic steps to make it happen regardless, among other things.

Twitter user “Dem1957” told Schumer, “QUIT THE TWEETS- They have become meaningless. People want to see HARDBALL from the Dems. There is a Dem in the WH, Dems control the House and you are Majority leader. Why does it feel like we are losing to Mitch McConnell and that this is the United States of Mitch?”

LGBTQ supporter Dawn Forbrick urged, “Do something, end the filibuster. Everyone knows that if the GOP takes back power, they will end the filibuster first day @Sen_JoeManchin McConnell will end it right in front of your face.”

“Resister” Dee L Shulz suggested that Schumer needs to be replaced in a reply where she said, “Chuck, I’m sorry but you’re not the guy. I don’t think you have it in you to play hardball. Hardball is the only game the @GOP and that snake @LeaderMcConnell know. They are eating you alive and spitting you out. We will lose majority. Step aside. It’s in our best interest.”

With control of the presidency, the Senate, and the House, it is likely that Democrats will become more frustrated whenever they don’t get what they want due to mechanisms that are in place to help the minority party.

While they can accuse Republicans of wanting to get rid of the filibuster, they had the same power after the 2016 election and didn’t do so.

The last time they made a move like that to push through activist judges for lower courts, it backfired on them at the Supreme Court level, so it is likely they will continue to be hesitant to go nuclear.
