Los Angeles County Sheriff Announced His ‘Underfunded’ Office Will Not Enforce New Mask Mandate

The Los Angeles County Sheriff has announced his office will not enforce the new mask mandate that was recently implemented last week.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff, Alex Villanueva, said, “Forcing the vaccinated and those who already contracted COVID-19 to wear masks indoors is not backed by science and contradicts the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.”

After calling the new mask mandate not being backed up by science, he went on to say, “The underfunded/defunded Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will not expend our limited resources and instead ask for voluntary compliance.”

The Sheriff ran as and is a Democrat however, he has shifted to the right after being elected in 2018 and the Black Lives Matter protests in the summer. Unfortunately for him, if he keeps us this conservative rhetoric, he is destined for defeat in Los Angeles.

Although Sheriff Villanueva said his office won’t enforce the new mask mandate, he is asking for voluntary compliance with the new order. Some on the right may see it refreshing to have Sheriffs not enforce left-wing mask mandates in their eyes.
