Man Charged in Shooting of Two Officers as 127 Arrested in Louisville Riots

Larynzo Johnson has been charged with 14 counts of wanton endangerment and two counts of assault in connection with the shooting of the two police officers in Louisville, Kentucky last night.

The Louisville Metro Police Department said that the officers are recovering in the hospital this morning and Chief Robert Schroeder said the two were shot at 1st Street and Broadway while responding to reports of shots fired nearby.

Dwight Mitchell who is with the LMPD media and public relations office said that 127 people were arrested during last night’s protests on charges ranging from disturbing the peace to inciting riots.

FBI Louisville tweeted out that they and the LMPD are seeking the public’s help regarding the shooting and provided a link for anyone with pictures or videos of the incident to upload them to.

Not much is known about the shooting suspect but one “real black, real proud” woman with the Twitter name “burn it down”, said, “FREE LARYNZO JOHNSON , HE INNOCENT” Her profile also says that she attends Southern University which is a HBCU located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
