Man Who Says ‘Janky’ With a Straight Face Will Be New Communications Director For Kamala Harris

It was reported yesterday that Twitter verified “writer” and “political analyst” Jamal Simmons will be the new communications director for Kamala Harris.

In a September 2020 tweet, Simmons used the slang word “janky” with a straight face to describe the vaccine for COVID-19 being developed during the Trump administration.

Simmons declared in the tweet, “Trump’s fatally ill-managed Coronavirus response seems to have turned voters off to him the way Katrina destroyed Bush’s political reputation, but pushing a janky science vaccine into the public for political purposes would turn incompetent culpability into intentional harm.”

U.S. House Rep Bob Good (R-VA) quote tweeted Simmons and said, “Meet new VP comms director.”

“He hated the vaccines when Trump was President, but now thinks that unvaccinated Americans should lose their jobs. #followthescience,” Good pointed out.

The Hill reported that Simmons is a longtime top Democratic communications aide and that the announcement is expected to be made today, according to sources.

The move is part of what they called a communication reset for Harris after a rocky first year in office, which included a rash of negative headlines and departures of the senior communications staff.

Simmons is a Michigan native who is widely respected in Democratic circles and has been involved in national politics since Bill Clinton’s administration.

After serving as deputy communications director for the Gore presidential campaign, Simmons has also served as an aide to former Sen. Bob Graham (D-FL) and former Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark and was chief of staff to former Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-MI).

Simmons has appeared on various networks in recent years, often discussing race-related topics, and after Kyle Rittenhouse was cleared of all charges, he wondered if it was, “The return of vigilante justice?”

“America looking a lot more like the early1900s than how we thought the 2000’s would shake out,” Simmons claimed.
