Adam Kinzinger Describes Ted Cruz’s Walk Back to Tucker Carlson As ‘One of the Most Pathetic Things’ He’s Ever Seen

U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) put himself in a bad position after describing the event that occurred on Jan. 6, 2021, at the Capitol as a “terrorist” attack.

Cruz told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson last night, however, that he had made a “mistake” with his choice of wording when describing the situation.

The interview now has Cruz taking criticism from both sides as liberals and others who had cheered his original remarks are now mocking his backtrack.

U.S. House Rep Adam Kinzinger (IL) quote tweeted a clip following the interview and declared, “Wow @tedcruz that is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen.”

Kinzinger’s words echoed those of ACYN, who shared the clip originally and noted, “This is really sad. Tucker has more power over Ted Cruz than his constituents.”

This morning, Kinzinger added an additional pair of tweets about the situation, including one where he shared a screenshot of Cruz using the same words in the immediate aftermath last year.

“This is you @tedcruz?” Kinzinger wondered.

Previously, we reported:

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson held U.S. Sen Ted Cruz (R-TX) “accountable” tonight in an interview after Cruz referred to Jan. 6 as a “violent terrorist attack.”

Cruz ultimately backtracked, admitting that he made a “mistake” by categorizing it as such, acknowledging that he gave fuel to the left and wasn’t specific by his intent.

Carlson was not buying what Cruz was attempting to sell at first as Cruz tried to suggest that the way he “phrased things yesterday, it was sloppy and frankly it was dumb..”

“I don’t buy that. Whoa, woah, woah! I don’t buy that!” Carlson interjected.
