NY AG Letitia James Celebrates After Judge Orders Donald Trump, Children to Comply With Her Subpoenas

New York Attorney General Letitia James celebrated after a judge ordered Donald Trump to comply with her subpoenas yesterday.

In a tweet following the ruling, James declared, “Today, a court ruled in our favor that Donald Trump must appear before my office as part of our investigation into his financial dealings.”

“No one will be permitted to stand in the way of the pursuit of justice, no matter how powerful they are,” James insisted.

In a follow-up response, James added, “Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Ivanka Trump must all comply with this court order and testify before my office within 21 days. No one is above the law.”

The rhetoric by James was similar to what she said when she announced in January that she had taken “legal action” against the Trump organization after being put on notice by the former president at his Arizona rally.

State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron also ordered Trump to turn over documents and information that had been subpoenaed within two weeks and portrayed the family’s claims of being selectively targeted as overblown.

In a statement after the ruling, Trump again lashed out at James and pointed out that she ran “for the office of AG on saying absolutely horrendous and false things” about him.

Trump also called the investigation “a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in history.”

“I can’t get a fair hearing in New York because of the hatred of me by Judges and the judiciary. It is not possible!” Trump explained.
