“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin threw the rest of her co-hosts into a frenzy as she defended Elon Musk winning Time’s Magazine Person of the Year award.
“‘I think he’s helping save the world.’ Sunny Hostin was the odd woman out this morning when she defended TIME Person of the Year Elon Musk. #TheView“

Hostin said, “I know he’s deeply unpopular around the world, but if you think about the work he has done, he’s a different type of gazillionaire. “He has sort of reshaped life on this planet in terms of climate change, not only for his work in space, but also for his work on electric cars.”
Many Democrats have been critical of Musk for not only his wealth but occasionally expressing Republican views and going after Democrats for their proposed increase of taxation on the wealthy. However, Hostin still credited Musk with donating $100 million to help combat climate change.
She continued saying, “When you think about those good things that he’s done, I think that’s really important. I think that’s very different from some of the other billionaires in the space. Because if we think that climate change is the greatest existential threat that we’re facing, he’s addressing that. So yes, not paying taxes, but doing [that]…I think he’s saving the world.”
Sara Hines acknowledged that he has done some good however she disagreed going after Musk saying, “[His net worth] is $290 billion. For generations, your family could never spend that money, and there are people that can’t eat today. Give some to people, and pay your taxes.”
Liberal Joy Behar jumped in as well attacking Hostin, “Are you American or are you some kind of space cadet? Go back to Mars.”
In a rare occasion, it seems there was some disagreement among The View co-hosts even though it is over a small issue. Surprisingly, Hostin defended the billionaire but did so drawing criticism from her liberal counterparts.
