Paul Gosar Responds to Nancy Pelosi’s Efforts to Have Him Censured and Stripped of Committee Assignments

Earlier this month, U.S House Rep Paul Gosar (R-AZ) posted a short anime video to Twitter, that upset U.S. House Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), and many other Democrats.

The video was edited to show Gosar’s head on the body of an anime character fighting with characters that have Ocasio-Cortez and President Joe Biden’s faces edited on to them.

This prompted Pelosi to call for an investigation, as well as calling on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to condemn the photoshopped video.

“Threats of violence against members of Congress and the President of the United States must not be tolerated. @GOPLeader should join in condemning this horrific video and call on the Ethics Committee and law enforcement to investigate.”

Today, Gosar spoke with reporters on a teleconference about the resolution to censure him as well as Pelosi’s attempts at removing him from his committee assignments.

According to Gateway Pundit, Gosar told reporters:

“I just received word that Speaker Pelosi intends to hold a censure vote against me soon, maybe as early as this afternoon at three and strip me of my committee assignments over a cartoon my staff posted last week depicting the real life battle taking place along the southern border — resulting from Mr. Biden’s open border policy.”

Gosar stated that “the left hates that I am standing up and speaking out about the provisions in the Build Back Better plan” which provide billions of dollars in funding on illegal aliens.

I spoke up against the $450 thousand, the unbelievable gift of our money, to illegal aliens while our veterans remain homeless and families can barely hang on under this high inflation. So, they are attempting to cancel me for standing up to their dangerous agenda,” Gosar continued.

Gosar continued on to say that the American people deserve to have their voices heard in Congress and no matter how much the left tries to silence him, he will continue to speak out against giving amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

“I will not stop fighting to defend the rule of law. We must secure our borders. We must advance the America First agenda,” Gosar said…

When asked by this reporter if he thinks Pelosi will succeed in stripping him from committees, Gosar explained that GOP leader Kevin McCarthy will probably move to table it, but that it will probably fail as Democrats will vote to censor him.

“There may be a few like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger who I think already said that they’re going to vote for the censure,” Gosar said. “The retaliation that they’re doing is pretty crappy, when you look at it.

Gosar added that “instead of having committees, the whole place will be my committee room. If they thought I was trouble in Resources and Oversight, wait until I can go to any other committee.”

As of now, it remains to be seen if anything will come from the hullabaloo the Democrats have made over a photoshopped video.
