Post Debate, AOC Highlights Having 115 Co-Sponsors For Green New Deal

During the middle of the Vice Presidential debate, Democratic New York House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez undermined Kamala Harris who claimed that the Biden-Harris Administration wouldn’t ban fracking if they won.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden again repeated those claims in tonight’s presidential debate but this time, AOC did not choose to respond to those claims, instead choosing to highlight that she has 115 co-sponsors for her Green New Deal legislation.

“It’s actually AOC plus 115 because that’s how many House and Senate members have cosponsored the most ambitious climate legislation in American history,” she said.

President Trump, however, didn’t hold back holding Biden accountable for his fracking claims which have been previously fact-checked by Newsweek as false.

After Trump promised it would be done during the debate, a video was shared on on Trump’s Twitter that tagged Biden and said, “Here you go!”

Elizabeth Warren, who is one of the Senator co-sponsors of the Green New Deal, tweeted out, “The climate crisis is an existential threat—and we’re running out of time to act. Our planet, our communities, and our economy can’t survive four more years of Donald Trump. We need to build a clean energy future—and @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris have the plan to get it done.”

The RNC Tweeted out, “Thanks to President Trump’s pro-American energy policies, America has achieved a new level of energy dominance. Yet Joe Biden’s agenda would put an end to America’s rediscovered energy independence. His own website calls The Green New Deal a ‘crucial framework.'”
