President Trump has claimed in a recent tweet this evening that Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA), Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan (R-GA), and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R-GA) will be the reason that Senator Loeffler and Senator Perdue could lose their runoff races on January 5th.
President Trump tweeted, “RINOS @BrianKempGA, @GeoffDuncanGA, & Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, will be solely responsible for the potential loss of our two GREAT Senators from Georgia, @sendavidperdue & @KLoeffler. Won’t call a Special Session or check for Signature Verification! People are ANGRY!”

All three Georgia State officials have made statements dismissing potential voter fraud out of pride or perhaps hatred towards the president. Trump has continued to attack the “RINOS” for not defending him as he campaigned for Brian Kemp in 2018 to help him win.
Many Republicans are threatening to boycott the runoff if the GOP doesn’t do something to help the president as they feel they shouldn’t be given two Senate seats if they won’t fight for the president. Polls have shown that this will be a tight race and if even a tiny proportion of the GA GOP refuses to go out and vote this could be costly to the Republican’s chances at maintaining the Senate majority.
Some don’t feel enthusiastic about the two Senators as both seem to be robots repeating Republican establishment talking points and calling their opponents “radical socialists” during the debate and attack ads. Both were also involved in an insider trading scandal in March when COVID-19 hit the country.
The GOP is pouring lots of money into the race but without turnout from the Trump part of the party both Senator Perdue and Loeffler could be unseated come January.
Some could see this as a threat to the Republicans in Georgia to fight for the president or else his base won’t turn out for them and some could be primaried out in the future. GA Republican state officials may want to step up or stand by this president or they may be in for a battle come their next primary.
Trump is right, his base is angry at the establishment for abandoning him as you can see in this clip below from his rally Saturday night in Georgia for both Republican Senators.
Previously we reported in part:
While Senator David Perdue (R-GA) was speaking at the Trump rally a chant began and made it hard for the Senator to speak. The crowd began to chant “fight for Trump!” when the Senator was trying to speak.
Some on the Right have been critical of the two Senators for their lack of fighting for the President in the state of Georgia and Conservative figure Lin Wood has called for GA Republicans to boycott the Senate races if they don’t defend the President.
Perdue vowed to fight for the President to make sure he gets a “fair and square deal” in his words. However, actions do speak louder than words and there hasn’t been much action from Perdue or Loeffler. If they do start to fight for Trump they may have an easy win come January but they must act or risk some GOP voters sitting out.
Hopefully, for the president’s sake, the Senators take his stand if he wants any chance of overturning the election results. Some are now coming behind the Senators after the president has shown support for the candidates.
