Psaki Attempts to Circle Back After Space Force Outrage, Invites Members to Future Briefings

Earlier, we reported that House Republicans excoriated President Biden’s Press Secretary Jen Psaki after she made light of the Space Force, which is a branch of the military.

Psaki tweeted out about the controversy, apparently trying to neutralize some of the outrage, and said, “We look forward to the continuing work of Space Force and invite the members of the team to come visit us in the briefing room anytime to share an update on their important work.”

Many, however, weren’t buying it. Trump supporter JT Lewis replied, “The President’s Press Secretary mocked a branch of the United States Military in the White House today. Glad we’re back to ‘normal’ though!”

Conservative activist Scott Presler asked, “If members of the Space Force visit you to update on their important work, does that mean they are circling back?”

Many others quote tweeted their responses to Psaki. Conservative “TV guy” John Cardillo wondered, “Why would they go where they’re mocked and unwelcome?” He added that he believes she “should apologize then resign.”

Trump supporter “Mike” who has a sizeable Twitter following suggested to Psaki, “Why don’t you p*ss on the Marines while you’re at it.”

Conservative talk show host Mike Davis said, “This is sheer mockery. I know the new regime lives to crap on anything #Trump did, but honorable members of the armed forces are involved in #SpaceForce and deserve better than this adolescent snark.”

During the campaign for the presidency, Democrats were quick to seize on a story that ran in The Atlantic that accused then President Trump of calling members of the military who died “losers” and “suckers.” It is hard to see how this is any different and Psaki said it for everybody to hear.
