Joe Biden’s Press Secretary Jen Psaki signaled Thursday that the Biden Administration wants to be able to dictate how big tech company of Facebook implements rule violation penalties for misinformation, as the administration doesn’t believe Facebook is moving quickly enough to remove the content.
“PSAKI: “There’s about 12 people who are producing 65% of anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms.” “Facebook needs to move more quickly to remove harmful, uh, violative posts.”

Psaki claimed, “There’s about 12 people who are producing 65% of anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms.” Some may wonder how she has access to who the 12 people are that are producing that amount of misinformation, in their eyes on the vaccine.
She offered a solution to the “problem” saying, “Facebook needs to move more quickly to remove harmful, uh, violative posts.” Many free speech advocates on the right would question the constitutionality of the government calling on Facebook to remove speech from the opposing side even if it is viewed as “harmful” from the left.
One interpretation of what Psaki said is that the Biden Administration wants to control how Facebook uses rule violation penalties. Some would argue the Biden Administration and the left already have control over how and who Facebook censors.
With the government calling for censorship of opposing speech, alternative social media platforms like Gab have sprung up with millions of users. We will have to see if Facebook answers the call from the White House to act more quickly.
