In a tweet made prior to Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) being elected as House Speaker, “Independence Day” legend Randy Quaid hinted that he would like to see U.S. House Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL) as Donald Trump’s running mate in 2024.
The suggestion came after Gaetz nominated Trump to be the Speaker of the House in a rousing speech supporting the former President.
Quaid declared in a quote tweet of Gaetz, “Great Vice-Presidential speech!”
In the original tweet, Gaetz shared a clip of his speech nominating Trump and said in the tweet, “I’m formally nominating President Donald J. Trump for Speaker of the House. Make the House of Representatives Great Again!”

As we reported at the time, Gaetz nominated Trump for House Speaker in the 11th round after previously voting for him in two rounds.
Gaetz had voted for Trump in the seventh and eighth rounds, before switching to U.S. House Rep Lauren Boebert’s (R-CO) nominee for both rounds, U.S. House Rep Kevin Hern (R-OK).
In a tweet prior to the nomination, Gaetz said, “There are only two outcomes here: Either Kevin McCarthy withdraws from the Speaker’s race, or he has to wake up every morning and put on the world’s best constructive straitjacket before the beginning of every House session.”
Ultimately, Gaetz has said that he nearly ran out of “stuff to ask for” from McCarthy during the negotiations on the Speaker of the House election.
“I can’t wait to see what we are able to do when we unlock the potential of all of our members going forward,” Gaetz said today.

I have a fairly positive opinion of Matt Gaetz so far, but I once had a similar opinion of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Once I saw her shilling for Kevin McCarthy as Speaker – my view of her drastically changed in the extremely negative direction.
McCarthy is a sleazy RINO and he is virulently anti-MAGA and anti-America First. He is man who has not a single thimble full of conservatism anywhere inside him.
McCarthy voted for:
Same sex marriage
Vax mandates for the military
$100 billion for Ukraine
To use Medicare to fund USPS
Drafting of women
J6 Kangeroo Committe
DC as 51st State
Amnesty for DACA law breakers

This rat also was a recipient of the FTX crooked money and used it to funnel money into GOP establishment anti-MAGA candidates as opposed to using legal money to help pro-MAGA candidates.
MTG claims to be pro-MAGA? She has proven that was only an illusion; she has sold out to the Deep State.
So, while I currently have a favorable opinion of Gaetz, that can change very quickly if he starts cucking to the GOPe and the Deep State.
