Rapper Offset Performs at Biden Rally Days After Being Detained Over Gun Waving Incident Against Trump Supporters

Yesterday, we reported that Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden held a drive-in rally in Atlanta, Georgia where there was a musical performance by Common.

The rapper Offset from the group Migos also briefly performed as well during the event, as Atlanta is where him and the group hails from, encouraging attendees to get out and vote.

On Saturday night, Offset was detained and released by Beverly Hills Police after driving through a rally in support of President Trump, according to police.

The Beverly Hills Police Department released a statement on that incident where they said confirmed the arrest of a 20-year-old man named Marcelo Almanzar, who was in the car with Offset, on two charges of carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

According to the police department, a passerby saw that Almanzar, shares a last name with Offset’s wife Cardi B and is her cousin, “pointed a weapon from a vehicle at him,” however, they did not press charges.

In August, Cardi B did an interview with Biden and on Saturday she had recorded a video going through a Trump rally in Beverly Hills saying she “was scared.”

Cardi B said on her Instagram Story, “I really feel like we’re going to get jumped,” but it does not appear that she was in the vehicle with Offset when the gun waving incident occurred and it’s unclear if it was the same Trump rally.

A representative for Offset issued a statement to People Magazine claiming that he “was detained by the Beverly Hills Police Department following an attack by aggressive Trump supporters.”

At the Biden rally yesterday, Offset said, “This is my first year voting, because I was told I couldn’t vote because I had a bad past. I just want to thank God for allowing me to be a part of the world, because I used to feel I wasn’t a part of the world.”

“I just want y’all people to know if you young, don’t feel like you need to go vote cause we need to know what’s going on, this will help our communities out,” he added.

Common thanked Offset for joining him and said, “We love you, ATL appreciate you” although Biden didn’t acknowledge Offset’s appearance in his remarks.
