Second Person Arrested in the Connection to the Murder of 5 year old Cannon Hinnant

Aolani Takemi Marie Pettit, 21 was arrested on Tuesday. She was charged with felony accessory after the fact. This is in connection to the murder of 5-year-old Cannon Hinton who was shot in the head while playing out side in front of his little sisters. Pettit is being held on a $250,000 secured bond.

WRAL reported Pettit is the girlfriend of Darrius Sessoms, the man who is charged with 1st-degree murder of the 5 year old Cannon. Pettit helped Sessoms leave town after shooting the young child including providing him transportation.

Some believe the mainstream media has not done their job to cover this story as horrendous as it is. She tweeted an article written by Big League Politics that originally talked about the murder and the lack of mainstream media coverage. They had released a follow up article that said a say his name campaign was a way to draw attention to the murder.”
