Stefanik Demands Gov. Cuomo Be Arrested After NY AG Letitia James Announces Results of Sexual Harassment Investigation

U.S. House Rep Elise Stefanik (R-NY) wasted no time demanding Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s arrest after New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) announced the results of an investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him.

“Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law,” James said in the announcement.

Stefanik responded in with a statement of her own and declared, “No one is above the law and today justice must be served. Governor Cuomo must resign and be arrested immediately.”

“President Biden must immediately call for Cuomo’s resignation,” Stefanik continued urging the president to take action against the embattled governor.

In another tweet, Stefanik asked, “How long is it going to take for: Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Kathy Hochul, Kirstin Gillibrand, Chuck Schumer, Carl Heastie, and Andrea Stewart-Cousins to call for Cuomo to resign, call for impeachment proceedings, impeach and remove this criminal sexual predator?”

In her statement, Stefanik pointed out that she was the “first federal official” to call for the independent investigation.

“The media and Democrats smeared me and closed ranks to protect Cuomo, a shameful chapter in New York history,” Stefanik explained following her calls for the investigation.

Stefanik added that “All of them including his staff must be held to account. These brave women deserve swift and definitive justice.”

It remains unclear what consequences there will be, as Cuomo recently dodged a bullet in regards to his handling of COVID with the nursing homes.

Previously, we reported:

Janice Dean tweeted: “A terrible day for thousands of families. In a letter to @SteveScalise@TheJusticeDept wrote that they were dropping the nursing home investigations in all states including New York. There will be no justice for our loved ones, and it feels like we’ve lost them all over again.

There are still several investigations into @NYGovCuomo here in New York, and I will try to hold out hope for those to prevail, but for the families in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey, this is a soul crushing day.”
