‘Stunned’ Don Lemon Announces That he has Been ‘Terminated’ From CNN After 17 Years

After it was announced this morning that Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News, Don Lemon announced in a statement that he has been “terminated” from CNN after 17 years.

Lemon said that he is “stunned” by the news, although his recent tenure has been rife with controversy and he had been moved from primetime to a morning show.

In the statement, Lemon began, “I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned.”

“After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly,” Lemon insisted.

Lemon explained, “At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network.”

“It is clear that there are some larger issues at play,” Lemon speculated, before concluding, “With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them the best.”

In February, CNN CEO Chris Licht shared in an internal email, that he had a “frank and meaningful conversation,” with Lemon.

That came after Lemon’s comments about GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley caused an on-air tiff between himself and his female co-hosts.

It is unclear if Lemon had committed any transgressions since then, but he got roasted for a recent interview with another GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
