A riot was declared in downtown Portland after demonstrators after multiple statues were spray-painted and toppled, while the windows and glass doors to the Oregon Historical Society were smashed out.
The statues pulled down were of former Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln during an event that organizers dubbed “Indigenous Peoples Day of Rage.”
President Trump issued a series of tweets condemning the actions and calling on the FBI to “get” the “Biden fools” and “Antifa radicals.”

In the video of the Roosevelt statue being pulled down, a woman can be heard saying “f*ck all you colonizers, every single one of you that’s against black lives matter can f*ck the f*ck off, we’re done with colonizers.”
Authorities issued a public warning that anyone involved in criminal behavior would be subject to arrest, but it is unclear how many arrests were made in the wake of the riot declaration.
