Tulsi Gabbard Feels People Should Condemn Apparent FBI Overreach, ‘Regardless of How You Feel About Trump’

Former U.S. House Rep Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) said that the FBI raid on the former president’s home should be alarming to Americans. On Twitter she shared a video of her Fox News interview along with:

“Regardless of how you feel about Trump, this FBI raid throws fuel on that fire of distrust and sets a dangerous precedent that reduces our government to being no better than a banana republic, where dictators see federal law enforcement as their own personal goon squad.”

Gabbard, along with many other Democrats, are alarmed by the way the raid was perpetrated and then the complete silence so far, from the DOJ and FBI as well as the refusal from the White House to make many comments on the matter.

Gabbard calls the actions by the DOJ and FBI an abuse of power. Former President Donald Trump was in New York City at the time of the raid, and was informed by his son Eric Trump of what was going on. Reports have come in that Trump’s lawyers were told they could not watch the raid take place.

Since there has been total silence on the part of the FBI and DOJ, along with no search warrant being made public, people have been free to speculate as to why this was apparently handled so poorly at least publicly.

Some on the left seem to be celebrating the news, as they have previously done with all the other “witch hunt” speculation that never seemed to touch Trump. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow told her viewers that they would want to get a newspaper to commemorate the raid.

Meanwhile, many others on both sides are disgusted at the way Biden’s DOJ is handling this alongside the FBI.

Former Democrat Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo shared his thoughts on Twitter about the way horrible way in which this has been handled. Former Democrat presidential candidate Andrew Yang also shared he was alarmed by the way this was executed.

The word Banana Republic has been floated much since the raid, as it seems to many this is an abuse of power that targeted Biden’s potential and likely rival for the 2024 presidential election.

No one can seem to recall of find evidence of a former president’s residence being raided before, setting a new dangerous precedent.

Some have speculated that the DOJ may be trying to provoke volatile behavior, which is why many on the right keep advocating for calm and to use their vote to voice their opinion on what has happened.
