Vice President Kamala Harris was fact-checked Friday after she tried to push some of the blame onto former President Donald Trump for the ongoing border crisis.
“FACT CHECK: In terms of unlawful crossings at the southwest border, this is false. 78,000 were encountered illegally trying to enter the US from Mexico in January when Biden took office. By March, 173,000. April: 178,000. May: 180,000. Highest monthly numbers in 21 years. In addition, Biden stopped turning away unaccompanied children, which has prompted more from countries other than Mexico to flee to the US He also stopped turning away most families So inheriting a system that isn’t capable of handling asylum seekers is not the full story.”

“We inherited a tough situation…In five months we’ve made progress,” Harris said after visiting the border for the first time since taking office. 90 days ago she was appointed “border czar” though she never made any appearances at the southern border until today.
As we previously reported, “Today, former President Donald Trump said that he has accepted an invitation from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) to join him at the country’s southern border on Wednesday, June 30 after Abbott announced Texas would build its own border wall last Thursday.
Trump said in a press release that President Joe Biden’s administration has created the “single worst border crisis in U.S. history” and pointed out that when his administration left office, the border was strong, safe and secure.
In the statement, Trump slammed Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for not visiting the border or visiting with Border Patrol or Immigration and Customs Enforcement and that their lack of response doesn’t help the “unmitigated disaster zone.”
Following Trump announcing he will visit the border with Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott, Kamala Harris decided she would finally try to save face and visit the border as well. Some have suggested, Trump has so much power he was able to force Kamala Harris to visit the border.
One thing is for sure, the Biden-border crisis was not because of Trump, but because of failed America-last immigration policies. Kamala was shown that today on Twitter as she was fact-checked.
