Utah Senator Mitt Romney (R) who is a vocal anti-Trump critic, admitted Tuesday at a virtual held event that Donald Trump would be the nominee of the Republican Party if he so decides to run in 2024.
Senator Romney said, “He has by far the largest voice and a big impact in my party,”. He followed that up with, “I don’t know if he’s planning to run in 2024 or not, but if he does, I’m pretty sure he would win the nomination.”
This comes as Trump continues to have high approval and favorability ratings among Republicans following his second impeachment earlier this month. Romney was one of the seven U.S. Senate Republicans to vote to convict Trump, 10 U.S. Republican Representatives voted to impeach Trump.
Romney has shown a bias against the former president as Trump has been able to do what Romeny could never do, win a presidential election. However even Romeny knows that this is Donald Trump’s party.
Jason Miller, chief spokesman for the 2016 Donald Trump campaign, who has been tweeting statements for former President Trump tweeted “Even Mitt gets it: “Romney Says Trump Would Win 2024 GOP Nomination If He Runs – Bloomberg”.

Republican Congressman Jim Jordan (OH) who objected to the election results on January 6th and has been a staunch supporter of the former president said that the GOP is Trump’s party in a tweet Wednesday morning.
President Trump is the leader of the Republican Party.

This shows even those in the Republican Party who don’t like Trump know that this is Donald Trump’s party.
We will have to see if the former president decides to run as he has the clear support to do so.
