Donald Trump Says Joe Biden Should Fire his Joint Chiefs of Staff Over Claiming Climate Change is ‘Our Greatest Threat’

Former President Donald Trump released a statement this morning attacking the Biden administration over “climate change”. In a twitter-sized statement, Trump said: “Biden just said that he was told by the Joint Chiefs of Staff that Climate Change is our greatest threat. If that is the case, and they actually said this, he ought to immediately fire the Joint Chiefs of Staff for being incompetent!”

This statement comes in response to President Biden telling American troops stationed in the U.K. that climate change represents “the greatest threat to America”. Biden said, “When I went over to the tank in the Pentagon when I was first was elected vice president with President Obama, the military sat us down and let us know what the greatest threats facing America were, the greatest physical threats. This is not a joke. You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest physical threat facing America was? Global warming.” Biden continued, “”There will be significant population movements, fights over land, millions of people leaving places because they’re literally sinking below the sea in Indonesia, because of the fights over what is arable land anymore.”

President Biden explained his plans to speak with European allies to create a unified approach to address climate change: “We must all commit to an ambitious climate action if we’re going to prevent the worst impacts of climate change, limiting global warming to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius and lead the global transition in clean energy technology.” Biden has described climate change as a priority for his administration and during his first day in office, he reversed Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate agreement.

Army General Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, refuted Biden’s claim at a congressional panel yesterday morning. Miller said, “Climate change does impact, but the president is looking at a much broader angle than I am. I’m looking at it from a strictly military standpoint. And from a strictly military standpoint, I’m putting China, Russia up there.”

President Biden has faced pushback from Conservatives across Twitter over what they believe is a bizarre claim.
