Adam Schiff Says Trump May Sell Alaska to Russians if not Removed From Office

House Impeachment Manager Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) spoke about potential consequences if President Donald Trump is not removed from office, which included the possibility that he might sell the state of Alaska to the Russians to get their support. According to Schiff, “Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election, or decide to move to Mar-A-Lago permanently and leave Jared Kushner to run the country, delegating to him the decision whether they go to war.” View his statement below:

Schiff has had other questionable remarks including last week when he referred to an anonymous threat that the White House reportedly made to Senate Republicans to put their “head on a pike” if they voted against Trump in the impeachment trial. According to ABC News, “Senate Republicans have vehemently denied the White House ever made such a threat.

Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), a key moderate Republican who could be a crucial swing vote in the impeachment fight, broke her vow of silence on the floor. ‘That’s not true,’ Collins said several times from her seat, loudly enough to be overheard by reporters sitting in the upper level of the chamber. She was also seen shaking her head several times in apparent frustration at his comments. ‘Not only have I never heard the “head on the pike” line, but also I know of no Republican senator who has been threatened in any way by anyone in the administration,’ she later told reporter.

Another key potential swing vote, Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), also hit back at Schiff for his rhetoric, calling it ‘unnecessary.’ ‘That’s where he lost me,’ Murkowski told reporters after the trial ended for the day, adding that she considered Schiff an otherwise ‘good orator.’ ‘I have not been told that my head is on a pike,’ Murkowski added with a laugh.” View Schiff’s “head on a pike” moment below:

Additionally, Democratic Impeachment Manager Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO) shared a quote from “Harry Potter’s” Dumbledore during the closing remarks of the impeachment trial. According to the Hill, “The Colorado Democrat turned to the best-selling franchise when wrapping up his arguments, citing the Hogwarts headmaster in a quote that he said hangs on his son’s wall. ‘My wife and I have tried to teach our kids that what we can always control are our choices,’ Crow said.” View his statement below with GOP Rapid Response Director Steve Guest’s commentary.
