Army General Suspended After Tweet Mocking Jill Biden, ‘Glad to See You Finally Know What a Woman is’

Retired Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky has been suspended from his contract as a senior mentor for a tweet he posted that seemingly mocked first lady Jill Biden. Biden tweeted “For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us,” in reference to the recent overturning of Roe V Wade. Volesky responded with a tweet of his own “Glad to see you finally know what a woman is,”

The remark from Volesky comes after Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson failed to define what a woman was when Sen. Marsha Blackburn asked her. When asked she seemed confused and said “I’m not a biologist”.

This remark by the new Supreme Court Justice came under intense scrutiny by the right as it seemed like a straightforward question that would be easy for a mother of two to answer. However, it seems that liberal politics had the justice tip-toeing around an obvious answer and instead replying with something that seems absurd to many on the right.

After Volesky’s comments on Twitter, he was suspended by Lt. Gen. Theodore Martin, as he is under investigation over his tweet. The pentagon seems to normally try and stay out of partisan politics as a whole, but it seems strange that Volesky has been suspended as it seems that Volesky was simply exercising his freedom of speech.

It isn’t clear if the direction of his suspension came from within the White House. It seems alarming to some that Volesky was suspended for the tweet that mocked the First Lady. Although it doesn’t seem too far from the message that comes from the White House that they intend to control the messaging even going as far as trying to set up a “Ministry of Truth” Biden’s  Disinformation Governance Board, which was put on hold after much criticism.
