An Atlanta-area District Attorney has been granted the ability to seat a special grand jury in the spring to further investigate former President Donald Trump for his “attempts to try to change the election results” in Georgia last year.

Fani Willis, who is the district attorney investigating the former president was given a hand by judges on the Fulton County Superior Court. This panel will gather evidence in the investigation and will allow Willis to issue subpoenas against witnesses.
This is in hopes of compelling potential “witnesses” to come forward and give more information to help their investigation into the former president. In addition to this, Willis believes she will make the decision to whether or not she will bring charges against Trump in the coming months.
However, Trump issued a statement saying, “So let me get this straight, I am being investigated in Georgia for asking an Attorney General with many lawyers and others knowingly on the phone to look for corruption, which definitely took place in the Georgia Presidential election — but the people who committed the crime are in no way, shape, or form under investigation and are instead being protected?”
We will have to see how Trump responds if criminal charges are brought but this shows how Democrats are still not done with Trump even after being out of office for more than a year.
