Biden Hides out in Rehoboth Beach While the FBI Searches His Wilmington, DE Home and Finds More Classified Documents

Friday it was announced Joe Biden would be heading to his home in  Rehoboth Beach DE for the weekend. This seemed unusual as Biden typically reserves his visits to Rehoboth Beach for the summer months.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre was asked if his staying in Rehoboth Beach had anything to do with the classified document scandal the president is currently embroiled in. With the only answer, she seems to have KJP answered ‘Biden takes classified documents very seriously… I refer you to the White House counsel’.

On Saturday it was disclosed that the FBI had spent 13 hours searching Biden’s Wilmington Deleware home on Friday. Their search turned up 6 more classified documents

Bob Bauer, personal attorney for Biden shared, The Justice Department “took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President.”

Bauer also remarked the FBI also took some of Biden’s handwritten notes as well.

Last February Biden wrote, “In a democracy, the public deserves as much transparency as possible regarding the work of our national security.” In the memorandum, he went on to add, “The revitalization of our national security and foreign policy workforce requires a recommitment to the highest standards of transparency. ” With the revelations of classified documents being found in different places that Biden had taken and held on to before becoming president, the memo seems to just be lip service.

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hur as special counsel in discerning who had access to the documents as well as how they ended up in all the locations they were found.

Chair of the House Judiciary Committee Jim Jordan (R-OH) also announced that the Judiciary Committee would be conducting an inquiry into the classified document scandal as well. Jordan sent a letter to Merrick Garland requesting information. Shortly after sending the letter the Assistant Attorney General’s office sent a letter back sharing they wouldn’t be able to assist in disclosing information because it was an ongoing investigation.

The White House has been fairly tight-lipped about the whole thing. The public wasn’t made aware of the scandal until January of 2023. This was months after the National Archives were made aware of the issue. Documents were discovered at Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center on November 2nd of 2022 and the National Archives were then contacted and came to take possession of them.

More documents were found in Biden’s Willington Deleware home in December this was also kept from the public until January. After the disclosure was made to the public about the documents even more were found. Friday’s search of Biden’s Wilmington home is just the latest in the string of classified documents being found where they shouldn’t be.

  1. …..these classified documents do not represent all the classified docs Biden took, they are the ones he neglected to return.
