Greg Gutfeld has ousted Stephen Colbert for the top late show. Former President Donald Trump touted the news on Truth Social, sharing an article captioned, “Greg is smarter, sharper and a MUCH better entertainer. Colbert is a highly overrated LOSER!”
Gutfeld’s late show has brought forth record numbers for the month of August. Colbert’s late show has been number 1 for the past five years but it seems his time at the top may be up. Colbert is a smart-aleck liberal host who enjoys mocking the right.
“Gutfeld!” averaged 2.19 million viewers the most since its launch in 2021. On the show, Gutfeld has an array of guests that discuss topics with him in a lighthearted way. Two of his regulars are Kat Timpf and Tyrus who appear almost nightly.
Gutfeld also co-hosts “The Five” another outstanding performer in the ratings. “The Five” is a roundtable hosted show in whith multiple rotating hosts, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, and Jeanine Pirro with Harold Ford Jr., Geraldo Rivera, and Jessica Tarlov.
This year has been a phenomenal year for Fox News with prime-time ratings. Most news networks are struggling to come close to Fox New’s ratings even when combining CNN and MSNC’s numbers they are still falling short.
CNN is now rebranding itself, in an effort to get away from highly partisan opinion news many anchors have been cut from the network. CNN has a new parent company that wants to take it in a different direction. The new management cut CNN+, which Chris Wallace left Fox News for at the end of last year.
It seems the formula and hosts that Fox News has kept drawing in the viewers.
