Elon Musk Breaks Silence on When Major Twitter Account Reinstatements May Happen, Plans New Moderation Council to Spearhead First

After Elon Musk took over Twitter yesterday, he fired top executives within the company and appointed himself CEO.

Many have been wondering what the plan is as far as potential account reinstatements, given that many right-wing voices have been silenced over the past 5-6 years.

In a tweet today, Musk addressed the situation as he announced that “Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints.”

“No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes,” Musk insisted.

Former President Donald Trump is at the top of many people’s lists for reinstatement and many asked Musk about that situation.

MAGA rapper Bryson Gray asked Musk, “Is there [an] estimated timeframe?”

According to CNBC’s Deirdre Bosa, an entire team of data engineers has been let go at Twitter today, although it turned out to be a prank.

Bosa shared a picture of two of them and noted, “They are visibly shaken. Daniel tells us he owns a Tesla and doesn’t know how he’s going to make payments.”

“(To be clear – I don’t think the Tesla was top of mind, I think @elonmusk was),” Bosa added, using a phrase that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously used to defend a Joe Biden gaffe.
