Florida Woman Charged with Felony for Throwing Whopper at BK Employee Over Thickness of Tomato

Judith Ann Black, a 77-year-old Florida resident is now facing a felony battery charge due to an altercation that took place at a Burger King in Wildwood, FL. Wildwood police arrested Black after she admitted to throwing a Burger King Whopper at one of the workers and calling her a, “stupid black b****h”.

The Burger King employee told investigators that Black was not satisfied with her order and began screaming at the employee trying to appease her. The employee asked Black to stop yelling which led Black to, allegedly say, “Shut up you black n*****” and lead her to hurl the burger at the employee. Black then proceeded to storm out of the store and drive to her residence.

Police, using surveillance cameras inside and outside of the store, managed to track down Black and positively identify her as the Burger King perpetrator. According to police, Black was upset with the thickness of the tomato on her Whopper which led to her confrontation. Black told police that the worker was, “not fixing the issues”, so she, “tossed it [the burger] at her”. Because of Black’s racial expletives used, police are raising her charge from a misdemeanor to a felony.

This is the second time this month where a racially motivated tirade occurred in a Burger King. The weekend of May 1st, in Richmond, B.C., a man was shouting racial slurs and phrases directed towards a Chinese man and his family in the Burger King drive-thru.

Benjamin Wong was a few cars ahead of the agitator and Wong’s dashboard camera recorded phrases such as, ” f*****g Chinese” and “I can f******g kill you” being shouted. Wong told CVT News that this man ended his racist rant when Wong pulled out his cellphone to record the altercation: “When he sees me filming with my phone he changes his tone and becomes a nicer person. He says ‘Nice meeting you’ and walks away”. Investigations are still underway to identify the suspect and potential motives. A video of the altercation can be seen here.
