Governor Cuomo Comes Clean in Farewell Speech, Says Defunding Police is Misguided and Dangerous

Soon to be former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo came clean in his farewell address calling defunding the police “misguided” and “dangerous”.

“Gov. Cuomo says in farewell address that he disagrees with fellow Democrats who call for defunding the police: “I believe it is misguided, and I believe it is dangerous…Reforming police must be the goal”

Cuomo said, “No Governor in the nation has passed more progressive measures than I have. But, I disagree with some people in my own party who call to defund the police. I believe it is misguided, and I believe it is dangerous.”

He went on to say that reforming the police and ending discrimination is the “real goal” so we can “rebuild trust” with the police. Cuomo cited rising crime rates and gun violence in New York City.

Some could say this is an attack on far-left New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) as he has called for the police to be partially defunded. Following revelations of former Governor Cuomo’s sexual harassment allegations, the Mayor called for his resignation as we previously reported, “Following the announcement yesterday by New York’s Democratic Attorney General Letitia James that sexual harassment claims against Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) had merit, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) demanded that Cuomo resign.

The mayor took it a step further today and said that the embattled governor needs to be criminally charged as well and that he expects impeachment if he refuses.

Cuomo also claimed that he felt some of his sexual harassment was in fact misinterpreted by women staff members due to cultural and generational divides between the parties.
