The U.S. Capitol Police shared that 17 members of congress were arrested earlier today when their protest broke the DC code § 22–1307 crowding, obstructing or incommoding.
Correction: We made a total of 35 arrests for Crowding, Obstructing or Incommoding (DC Code § 22–1307).

That arrest number includes 17 Members of Congress.
This was because their protest took to a public street and impeded traffic.
Axios reporter Andrew Solender shared a video of those arrested. They had been corralled off and officers were taking their IDs. The group took the opportunity to get a group picture, so they could share it later.

Among those arrested were all four members of the “squad”, Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY. Cori Bush (D-MO) was also among those arrested as well as Assistant Speaker of the House Katherine Clark (D-MA). The only male member of Congress arrested was Andy Levin (D-MI). The full list of those arrested can be seen at the end of this article.
Some members including AOC and Ilhan Omar pretended they were in handcuffs while being escorted away from the Supreme Court.
We reported in part earlier on AOC’s apprehension:
U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) was arrested earlier today along with 16 other members of congress.
Although the Supreme Court session is over, the protests over the overturning of Roe vs Wade continue outside the Supreme Court.
Today CPD Action along with members of the Democratic Women’s Caucus protested outside the Supreme Court. The group moved out on the street marching and chanting...
Multiple people shared videos of AOC being escorted from out front of the Supreme Court. She has her hands behind her back appearing like she has been handcuffed. She is smiling while being escorted by police. At one point she raises her fist in the air confirming that she is not handcuffed.
Those arrested were obviously very happy with their arrests and some may speculate now they have media and a story to use for fundraising.
