Joe Biden Plans to Run in 2024 ‘If in Good Health’, Especially if Trump Runs Again

In an interview published Wednesday, Joe Biden said that he would run again for president in 2024 if he is in good health.

“Pres. Biden to @DavidMuir on running for re-election and a possible rematch against Donald Trump: ‘Why would I not run against Donald Trump for the nominee? That’ll increase the prospect of running.'”

Biden said, “Yes. But look, I’m a great respecter of fate.” He also said that fate has intervened in his life many times. He continued, “If I’m in the health I’m in now, if I’m in good health, then in fact I would run again.”

This comes as former President Donald Trump has drawn speculation as to whether he too will run again in 2024 as this could potentially bring a 2020 rematch. When Biden was proposed with this potential scenario, he replied, “You’re trying to tempt me now. Sure, why would I not run against Donald Trump if he were the nominee? That’d increase the prospect of running.”

Some may argue now that Biden isn’t in good health as he has been known for his gaffs as he stumbled across the campaign trail and now the presidency. In 2024, Biden would be 82, again breaking his own record for oldest president.

Republicans would most likely welcome a Trump-Biden rematch in 2024 as they believe with the way the economy and Covid-19 are going, Trump is destined to win. However, Democrats may not want Biden to run as they could see him as a liability to the party.
